Have you had a heart change? 01/27 by RevEssie | Spirituality Podcasts: Following Jesus Christ is not just lip-service, there has to be a heart change. God knows the 'real' you. What is done in the dark will certainly come out in the light.

Support is important

Years ago, when I was a rookie in the ministry field, my family came to listen to me preach one Sunday. My sisters husband, who was a wise and happy older man, told me afterwards at his home, "Esta!" (Esther) "You can preach, I gotta give that to you." And he went on to say, which was the absolute truth, "But you just don't have no suppote!" (Support. He had a gentle Southern accent.) And you want to know something? For years I didn't have support from hardly anyone, maybe a $20 bill here and there or $50 three times a year or so. But recently, now that I have my stuff together and I am sure, satisfied, experienced and on fire for the Lord's work, I now have support. Once you know that you know that you know that what you are doing is for the Kingdom and not YOU, God steps in and blesses the entire ministry. It took me years of mistakes and experience, joy and tears to get this far. By God's Grace and Mercy, I now have those who enjoy what I do and they tell me every day. And don't get me wrong, there are always those who don't enjoy what you do and will let you know it too! But I was called for such a time as this and I am going to ride this thing until the wheels fall off. And no, I am not one of those screaming, big word-using, jumping up and down preachers so if you are looking for that....can't do. I am not an actor, I preach the unadulterated Word of God. I preach it in a way that, people from any generation can understand. I once had an elderly gentleman come up to me after I preached in a big church from my hometown, and he said, "Now Rev. I liked that. You preach so 'us dummies' can understand it" and he laughed and walked away with his wife. I'll never forget that. He has since passed, bless his soul, but he put a wonderful seed in me that day. (Mr. Alton, I'll never forget you.) Don't ever forget the good times and keen signs that God has shown you throughout the years. Write them upon the tablets of your heart.
For you people who have been stepping in to help the ministry, thank you. It means more than I can type on this Blog. God bless your household 100 fold. May He give you 'more-than-enough'....always. So much that your will have to give some away.

Thanks for reading and have a successful day!

"fly by" relationships with God

There are many who experience such limited time with God, yet they wonder why their prayers aren’t being heard. I call these, “fly-by relationships” or “catch me if you can” relationships. They speed past that shut-in time with God as though they were on the run and He is supposed to reach out and catch them in their ignorance towards Him. He can you know? You’d be surprised what God can do to get our attention. Sometimes His ways may not seem so sweet or funny, so let’s stay on His good side.
Is your relationship a ‘fly by’ one with the Most High? How many times a day do you speak to your Creator and tell Him not only about all of your troubles but tell Him how much you love Him and adore Him? God loves to hear from us! Don’t allow negative people, (even some relatives and so-called friends,) to tell you that your prayers aren’t being heard because God has “more important things to do.” That is a lie of the enemy and he is hoping that you fall for it and keep your mouth shut and not praise and worship God OR ask for help now and then. God dwells in the praises of His people. Praise Him at all times. I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. (Psalm 34:1)
No two humans are the same, God made it that way. No two voices are the same. When each of God’s zillions of people speak to Him, He hears our voice and recognizes it. When your children call you on the phone you recognize their voice right? Or you husband, wife, sibling or friend. That is how God recognizes you as well. He absolutely loves to hear from you. He knows that you’ve sinned and done some things wrong. That’s why He sent Jesus to become sin so that you can be covered by His Work on the Cross. This is exactly why no one can get into Heaven unless he or she has accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior because He S A V E D us from sin, Hell and death by offering Himself as the Highest Ever Sacrifice. If He didn’t we’d never get into Heaven. Works without Faith is dead as well as Faith without Works. Your beautiful, “I think I’m a nice person” works will NOT get you into Heaven. It’s Jesus the Christ or blackness with weeping and wailing. I’ve had people tell me that they don’t believe in “that Jesus stuff.” They say that they love God but they are calling God a liar by saying that there is no son named Yeshua HaMaschiach (His Hebrew name of various spellings throughout the years) or, Jesus the Christ. And no, “Christ” is not His last name. It’s His title.
God is not into the Fly-by relationship thing. One morning you say, “Hello and thank you for today Lord” and the next morning you are grumpy and say nothing neither do you thank Him for waking you up again. He really didn’t have to you know. We have to check our own motives and attitudes on a daily basis. Can you imagine what the disciples went through while they were walking with Jesus? They were in “check myself” bootcamp. Well, Peter had a way to go I presume, but he was there. The cursing (his mouth) and the way he let satan use him to speak to Jesus via doubt. Not to mention ‘Doubting Thomas’ who had to see the wounds in Jesus’ hands before he believed that he and risen. And wait a minute! Didn’t Jesus already tell them that He was coming back? Sooooo, Jesus lied then? Ok Thomas. Great mentee. Anywhooo…. And yes, there were women there as well so we can’t use the old, “menstruation” excuse. I am sure that they didn’t bite Jesus’ head off during “that” time of the month or cry for chocolate, amen? Because you had a bad night doesn’t mean that God doesn’t want to hear from you. Because you had a headache, physical problems or nightmares, doesn’t mean that God doesn’t still deserve praise and worship. Get this…humans are sometimey, God is all-the-timey. If some of us would just stop and let His Peace enter our hearts, we’d forget the headaches and heartaches or bad dreams. So many of us are trying to remember the dreams that we forget to talk to God in the morning. I used to  be so busy in the morning trying to remember my dreams so that I can write them down. I do believe in writing them down, they could be your next direction from the Lord, but my fellowship (actually my “thank you session”) with God comes first. If there is anything that He wants me to remember about the dream(s), (and sometimes it can be His direction as well,) He will cause me to remember it when I am through thanking and praising Him and praying.
Some people are so busy trying to be first on the internet, ie., Facebook that you wonder if they spent any time with the Lord at all that morning. It’s like people roll over, grab their phones and log on to Facebook. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. (Revelation 2:4) Everyone is trying to out-post others or see who has the most manly, pretty or hottest post. It’s a shame to watch. Some are early risers but you sometimes get that feeling as though they hadn’t even prayed or washed before posting. The internet has become a circus. There is so much competition and ‘nothingness’ going on that you can get lost in it. Not to mention that Facebook already admitted that they were experimenting on us at various times to ‘see how we handle things,’ That’s ludicrous. And Christians are literally falling for it hook, line and sinker. They won’t speak to their neighbor or give someone a ride to the store but they want to be first to post online each day. God showed me where even saying, “Good Morning” too much online can become a trap and take us away from our focus. I used to do it like clockwork, especially for my ministry page, until I began to see how it can become a god, (little ‘g’) to us. You spend more time doing great “Good Mornings” than you do in prayer. I had some people get upset with me because I didn’t say “Good Morning” to them in time. I still do them though, once in a while but not daily. Oh yes, I love encouraging and uplifting people but it’s no longer a “has to be” or “needed” exercise for me each a.m.. Now, God has freed me to the point where sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. Ahhhh, Freedom, it’s feels so good. And I no longer jump up in the wee hours of the morning to get online. Yes, I’ve learned to rest. The World doesn’t need me but one thing I do know….I NEED God. The World lives on without my Good Mornings. Not only that, I post other content throughout the day but it’s all after I spend time with God. When your ministry become a job, it’s no longer a gift to the Most High. He took us out of slavery and doesn’t want us to voluntarily go back in. Amen?
Let’s get our emotions and motives in check, put them under our feet where they belong and serve the Lord with all Joy and gladness. Many people can’t get God’s work done or help someone else because of their emotions. They’re too emotional to let the truth of a matter take precedence. Emotions are fly-by as well, aren’t they? Let’s stop flying by the Lord and start stopping in and chatting with Him a while. Provoke others to do so as well. Be a good example of a believer.
Have a great night and a peaceful, wonderful tomorrow.

Sometimes you just have to sit back and watch.

Hello 2018. There seems to be so much going on lately including the weather. Hollywood is being watched and labeled as the next Sodom and Gomorrah, football players are paid a handsome amount to run up and down the field but yet they seem to also get into trouble and on the news. Black’s are killing whites and whites are killing blacks. Those that should be innocent are found guilty and those that are guilty are found innocent. Right is wrong and wrong is right. Church’s are closing down and Christians are losing heart. To me it seems as though Christians don’t know whether or not they really want to believe in Jesus Christ anymore. There is so much happening, whizzing by our heads every day that as humans, it seems that we are nearly drowning in a sea of confusion. What people tend to forget is the fact that God still sits high on his throne and sees everything and is ready at the drop of a dime to help us, all we have to do is ask. All we have to do is stay in contact with him and pray, read, study, ask, just like the word says liked the word says in Jeremiah 33 3. Children are disrespecting parents and parents are not raising their children properly and blaming it on the government and school systems. Parents are getting high with their children, parents are getting drunk with their children, parents are living lustful lives with their children and sometimes engaging with the children themselves. The devil is running rampid and he knows his time is short but do we know that time is short? Are we sure that we are saved? Or are we attempting to walk the walk and talk the talk not God’s way but in our own way? Preachers are dating the congregation male and female. That was not God’s intention. The spirits of intimidation, intrusion, embarrassment, lust, greed, envy, and hate, are taking over and yet Christians still seem to be weak in their power which I honestly do not understand. Either we believe that God lives in us or we don’t! You cannot walk the fence, we have to make up our minds. God lives in us. That is the word, that is his word. What is causing people to weaken is the fact that we are being led too much by television, social media, radio and gossip. we are being led by flesh instead of spirit and if you are living by the flesh your spirit will not reign. There are scriptures the tell us the Jesus and the disciples did Ministry so much that they were hungry and had to go into the towns to get food to eat. They had compassion on the people and ministered to the people and took care of the people even before they took care of themselves. But today we eat so much we can barely move. For years I’ve been a singer on stages all over Western Pennsylvania and before I sing I cannot eat. It’s always been that way. I have to depend on the God in Me to deliver people from depression and to give them Joy. The same goes for when I preach, I cannot eat before I get up on Sunday mornings on my Blog Talk Radio show called “Reverend Essie Scott”, to preach or any other day for that matter. We must push ourselves away from the chicken and potato salad, cornbread and greens and cause our flesh to wait until we wait upon the Lord and do his bidding. That is how we can please God and draw people to the Heavenly Kingdom. And amen.

April 11, 2018 Night Meditation

In days like today there are so many concerns. We believers have a concerned God who cares about us as well and that is very relieving. Although we have favor of the Most High, we must not forget to pray for those who haven't gotten to that point yet in their faith walk with God. It is so easy to sit back and enjoy the blessings that have been bestowed upon us. It is so easy to sit back and thank the Lord for your cup of coffee in the morning or for the huge plate of food that you are about to devour, but we must consider what the Lord told us to do in Matthew 28:19 and 20. We are the Guardians of the galaxy. We are the earth angels who were bold enough to except Jesus as our hedge of protection. There are some who are not as strong as we are. Therefore we should settle our minds and fold our hands and pray. In doing so one must focus. We are not here just to live our own lives but we are to pull others out of the muck and mire. Speak to those who will not speak to you. Visit the sick and the shut in, orphans and widows. Give 2 of your 20 cans of soup to someone who may be hungry in your own neighborhood. Let go of whatever it was that someone did to you in the past. Forgive and you will also be forgiven. Your victory depends on your level of love towards others. Love is your measuring stick. Love and forgiveness go hand-in-hand. God expects for you to love and forgive like he did. He gave his son for you to be free now he wants you to reach out and free others. As the song says ‘reach out and touch somebody's hand make this world a better place’, but I say not, “if you can” but “yes you can.”

As you sleep in your warm beds tonight think of those who cannot do what you are doing. Think of the thousands of children who go to bed with no covers and empty stomachs. Think of the battered and abused spouses, the Drug trafficking in Human trafficking, sex trafficking, cultures marrying off five year old children to grown men. Lost souls who either do not know God or do not want to get to know Him or Jesus. Think of the pride in many people who do not want to worship Yeshua HaMaschiach, Jesus the Christ, who are full of selfishness or who are just ignorant of His Love and intentions toward them. Donate your funds, you're time and your energies to a worthy cause. Simply find one. Jesus said Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. (Luke 6:38)

Tonight ask God who it is that He would have you give to. It is time for us to start taking care of one another. I pray that this shone a light in your heart. God bless you and have a wonderful evening and morning, (which actually were the first day.)
Genesis 1:3-5
3  And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4  And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5  And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
